SEMINAR TOPICS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Improve your interpersonal communication skills
- Define ‘tact’ and its importance when communicating with others
- Describe strategies for maintaining professionalism when communicating with others
- Practice describing things clearly and accurately
- Learn to listen attentively by probing with appropriate questions to clarify understanding
- Practice active listening
- Identify common misconceptions about communication
- Improve your ability to understand when communications have been unsuccessful and develop the skills to quickly modify your approach
- Demonstrate clear communication to avoid misunderstandings and confusion
- Learn how to effectively give and receive feedback
- Effectively communicate constructive criticism and bad news to others
The seminar employs a balance of content and process and a blended approach to learning. This involves experience-based learning, brief lecture, and small and large group conversations. Methodologies are highly interactive and address different learning styles. Group process exercises and presentations are offered to maximize individual and group learning.
